BOONEVILLE–Brian Alexander continues to lead the Lady Tigers to the top of the Mississippi Association of Community/Junior Colleges (MACJC) North Division rankings with his fifth consecutive division win Monday night in Moorhead.
Alexander’s squad defeated the Lady Trojans (7-8, 2-4) at Mississippi Delta Community College’s Trojan Arena last night 63-56 to move to 8-6 overall and 5-1 in the MACJC’s North Division.
Leading the charge for the Lady Tigers was freshman Antionette Riddle, who had 16 points, five boards, one assist, and one steal.
Sophomore Kebrina Lucas added 11 points to go along with three rebounds followed by Talisa Boyd’s 13 points and nine rebounds in her effort.
“I was really pleased with our mental focus,” Alexander said. “These girls are doing everything I ask them to do and when that happens good things usually take place.”
With the win, Alexander’s Lady Tigers are poised for a north division showdown at Bonner Arnold Coliseum (BAC) on Thursday, January 31 at 5:30 p.m. against Itawamba Community College — that will have first place implications for the division. Alexander’s only division blemish came by way of the Lady Indians back on November 29, 2012, 80-55 in Fulton.
