Rowell remembered for bringing good to Tippah County

Longtime friends and co-workers remember F.L. “Spud” Rowell, a former Tippah County supervisor for the 5th District, as a dedicated family man with an upbeat spirit who helped bring a lot of good to Tippah County.

“He was a great supervisor. If he told you he was going to do something, he always did exactly what he said he’d do,” said longtime friend and former District 4 supervisor Dennis Grisham. “He was always upbeat, never down and always looked on the bright side. He’ll be greatly missed.” Grisham served on the board with Rowell for 20 years.

Rowell, 75, died Jan. 23, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Services were held on Jan. 26 at the Ripley Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Randy Isbell and Bro. Jeff Adams officiating.
