SCOREBOARD for Feb. 7: Davis scores 30 in Pine Grove win, Lady Tigers improve to 23-4.

(G) Pine Grove 52, West Union 44: On Senior Night, it was only fitting that two seniors would lead the way for the Pine Grove Lady Panthers. Bryana Davis scored 30 points–15 in each half–and Chloe Bailey added 11 to help the Lady Panthers fight off the West Union Lady Eagles.

Bailey sank three three-pointers and scored all her points in the first half.  With Davis’ 15,  Pine Grove was in total control at 30-16.

West Union found a groove coming out of the  break, pieced together a 17-4 run, capped by a Juliana Garner three-pointer and got within 36-33 headed to the final quarter.

The Lady Eagles  would get no closer thanks in part to Davis who scored her nine fourth-quarter points in a 15-2 game-deciding run. She banged three consecutive lane jumpers before finding  Anna Dixon, who slashed for a wide-open layup.  A defensive stop later, Davis connected on a three-pointer from the right-wing for a Pine Grove 51-38 cushion with just over 90 seconds remaining.

The Lady Eagles (23-7) are the No. 2 seed in the Div. 1-1A Tournament, which starts Monday at Booneville High School. The full tournament bracket is scheduled to be released Saturday, Feb. 9.

(B) West Union 58, Pine Grove 38: Senior forward Kane Tigrett scored 12 points and Jacob Carpenter added 10 for Pine Grove.
